Week Two and Finchley welcomed to Summers Lane a powerful looking OMTs side who expected their big Fijians to dominate the game.
In excellent playing conditions Finchley had their own plans and produced forty minutes of their best rugby in recent years.
In the fifth minute the ball was worked to Tom Lewin on the short side near halfway. The cut back seemed to be the wrong option with two defenders to beat but his raw pace made the try look simple.
Finchley attacked with precision whilst OMTs struggled to cope with Finchley's line speed and hard tackling. Whilst OMTs attack faltered Finchley racked up the points.
The Half time score was 28 – 5 with a bonus point in the bag for Finchley.
OMTs got more competive, and after Finchley lost both props, scrums went uncontested.
The final score 48 – 24. With 11tries this was a great game to watch!
