Falcons beaten by Hertford

We knew beforehand that Hertford have a very good team, but our concern grew when it became obvious that the Falcons just weren't in the right frame of mind. During the warm-up, the line-out wasn't working and the backs were dropping everything.

The first half of the first game was hard fought and reasonably even, seeing Hertford go into the break 7-0 up. However, the second half saw the worst performance by the Falcons that we can remember. While the forwards were generally competitive, our backs were as poor as their's were impressive. Hertford ran in a further 4 converted tries to win outright by 35-0.

The performance in the second game was a bit better, seeing Hertford win by 3 converted tries to nil, but it couldn't gloss over the fact that it was a very poor performance by the Falcons and not one that we're used to.
