As Finchley RFC celebrates its centenary year, one of the club’s most exciting and meaningful projects has already been delivered — the Centenary Gym, the first of the FRFC100 priority projects to come to life.

Positioned overlooking the pitches, the new facility is more than just a gym — it is a statement of intent. A space built by the club, for the club, and for the wider community as Finchley prepares for its next 100 years.

A Gym for Everyone
The Centenary Gym has been designed as a community-focused training space, accessible to players, members, and residents alike.
It will support:

• Player development across all age groups
• Strength and conditioning for senior men and women
• Injury prevention and rehabilitation
• Wider community health and wellbeing

This is not just about performance — it is about participation, inclusion, and long-term sustainability.

What makes this project truly special is how it was delivered.

The Centenary Gym stands as a testament to the leadership, dedication and hard work of Chris and Emily Grilly, who drove the project forward from concept to completion.
They were supported by an incredible group of:

• Youth Players (especially U15 boys)
• Parents and volunteers
• Club members with a wide range of practical skills.

Together, they brought energy, expertise, and commitment — giving up evenings and weekends to turn vision into reality.

From structural work to cladding, decking to internal fit-out, this was a hands-on, grassroots build, embodying everything Finchley RFC stands for: Teamwork. Commitment. Community.
