
Frank joined the club in the early 1960s and played Prop in the first team for
over 15 years captaining side between 1965-1967 and again 1976-1977. He
was elected President in 1977-1978.
He was one of a number of swimmers/water polo players from the Stoke
Newington Swimming Club who joined the club at this time.
He was part of club committee planning and fundraising for the building of the
new clubhouse in mid 1960s. He developed the “buy a brick” scheme which can
still be seen on the clubhouse wall.
Frank also served as the Finchley representative on the Middlesex County RFU
and was involved in the selection and management of the County Club’s team –
second XV.
When he retired from rugby, he became Chairman of the British Bare-Foot
Water-skiing Association. His son Richard was the British Champion of the
sport.
