What position do you play?
Nowadays I spend most of my time playing in the back row, although you’re most likely to catch me hanging in the 12/13 channel, keeping as far away from a ruck as possible.
How long have you played for Finchley?
This will be my third year at Finchley. I started playing rugby at school and so never really played for a London club. After my university days at Exeter and Reading, my (not so) little brothers convinced me to try out Finchley and, despite threatening to quit yearly due to the commute from South London, I’ve been here ever since.
What’s your favourite Finchley memory?
It’s tough to argue against the last minute Axis’ combination to win us the league in the ‘21/22 season. A close second though would be our co-captain Dom Goring kicking my nose off the side of my face for not offloading last year - excited for my yearly broken nose.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
The opportunity to create an All-Lloyd Williams back row. Otherwise it would be taking over kicking duties once Inigo’s 40% kick percentage starts to lose us games.
Why is Finchley RFC the best club in North London?
I think Finchley is in a really exciting place with a new coaching set up, strong turnout and a great social afterwards. All the fundamentals are in place for us to keep kicking on and push for promotion this year.
