Friday 24 April was a memorable evening at Summers Lane as Finchley RFC’s Senior Men came together to celebrate the season and recognise standout contributions across the club.
The night was made even more special with the confirmation that the 1st XV have secured promotion — a fitting reward for the hard work, commitment and performances shown throughout the campaign.
Players, coaches and supporters gathered to mark a successful season and applaud this year’s award winners:
1st XV
Players’ Player of the Year – Jamie Lloyd-Williams
Coach’s Player of the Year – Connor Rogers
2nd XV
Players’ Player of the Year – Niall Sexton
Coach’s Player of the Year – Sam Green
The evening also looked ahead to an exciting new chapter for the Senior Men. Kieran Tomlinson was confirmed as the new 1st XV captain, supported by a leadership group of Drew Williams, Jack Mousley and Inigo Saxon-Stone. The 2nd XV captaincy was also confirmed, with Owen Sexton taking the role for the new season.
A special moment in the evening came as the club recognised the outstanding captaincy of departing leaders Ed Kiddle and Dom Goring, who co-captained the 1st XV for five years and led the side to two promotions. Their leadership, commitment and service were warmly acknowledged and celebrated by all in attendance.
Congratulations to all award winners and captains past and present. Promotion secured, awards collected, and the future bright — Finchley RFC heads into next season with real momentum.
