The game was hosted at Gillingham RUFC who kindly allowed Dartfordians to use their pitch for this already re-arranged cup tie.
The game got off to a good start with both sides exerting pressure on the opposition. Some of the pressure applied by Finchley nearly leading to scores for Padraig Lynch and Brendan Moore.
These rare flourishes were to prove the only positive aspect for Finchley, who were unable to put patterns of play together and impose themselves on the opposition. This and some slack defence lend to Dartford scoring before the end of the half making the scores 7-0.
Finchley began the 2nd half well with some probing moves into the Dartford half, but some slack break down play and lack of aggression led to the Men from North London unable to capitalise.
With Dartord building on the pressure and adding to the score in the first half to make the final score 15-0
Congratulations to Dartford who now travel to Old Merchant Taylors for the next round of the cup.
The aggression and drive that the Finchley team showed before Xmas seems to have left the men in red and white since the new year, it will have to be discovered again in order to to re-group for the tough test of Hitchin in the league on the 1st Feb.
