Diversity, Equality & Inclusion 3 of 4

3. Supporting Resources

To help understand and align with our club policy and the standards set out by our governing body, the RFU, we provide references to supporting materials that the RFU has provided for use by clubs.

We encourage all club staff, members, players and parents of age-grade teams to review these useful materials, which have been selected as appropriate for Finchley Rugby Club.

These resources are not exhaustive and we encourage our members to take an active interest in diversity, equality and inclusion matters more broadly.

We also encourage any member or associate of the club to contact a committee member if unsure of a situation or if they would like to check any matter relating to diversity, equality and inclusion.

From the above linked resources, we recommend the following references:

RFU Speak Up Policy
Recognising that, through loyalty or fear of repercussion, people may be reluctant to voice worries, this policy has been created to encourage members of the game to speak up, knowing that they will be supported and their concerns will be handled sensitively.

Diversity Through The Lens Of Unconscious Bias
The term 'unconscious bias' refers to deep-rooted social and cultural stereotypes that we are unaware of but that impact negatively on how we treat people.

Exploring Our Duty To Care As Coaches
In this recording of a Time2Learn session, UK Coaching’s Policy and Partnership Manager Heather Douglas places Duty to Care firmly under the spotlight.
You will be encouraged to explore the importance of developing strategies to care not only for the people you coach, but for yourself too.
